So if I can get such a great detox with you in under an hour why would I have more than one?

This is a question I get asked all the time - not so easy to explain but I thought I'd do my best here!

Ok, so at Tao we have a rather special peiece of equipment - not available in the UK we had to get it imported from America, fully automated (you can operate it yourself in total privacy) it can eliminate kilo's of toxins from your system safely, effectively, naturally and comfortably in less than an hour.

It leaves you feeling refreshed, reviatalised and many people say better than they have in years, so why then do we offer courses at discounted rates?

Well, the detox system we use introduces purified water into the colon where the muscles are stimulated in a very natural but effective way, the water cleanses and tones and gives a deep clean that's very powerful and effective.

As water is absorbed from the colon, over time waste becomes dried on, so we have to soften and loosen it with water before it can be eliminated, and as we're working the muscles too - just like going to the gym, we can only perform the treatment for about 40 minutes before you start to tire, therefore it's almost impossible to get everything out in one go.

The system we use not only detox's the system it also tones the muscles so you gain long term benefits, we work the muscles in a very natural way, so similar to going to the gym, the more sessions you have the stronger they become - only 4% of us have a colon that's the right shape and in the right place, a course would help tone the muscles and help to restore everything to it's proper size and shape.

The way the treatment works also stimulates the liver and lymph system, causing them to dump toxins into the colon where they are safely washed away, as water is continually absorbed the kidneys are flushed too.

We also make the body behave in a way it only normally does when we're ill - anything that causes a discharge is the body's way of detoxing - or deep cleaning itself, and afterwards it goes into a state of hyper repair often giving intense healing, both physically and emotionally.

You also start eating, drinking and coming into contact with chemicals and other toxins as soon as you leave the clinic, so we offer a course at a discounted rate so if you choose to you can have a course carried out in roughly the following way.....

Three within a week - as everything stays soft and loose we can get a very deep cleanse eliminating the deeper layers of waste that have been there for years!

Then another one per week for three weeks - as the colon is very clear, any build up from the last week is quickly eliminated so the muscles can work freely giving a very powerful work out, this very effectively tones the muscles and helps to clean and shrink any pockets that may have formed that
could potentially become infected.

Then another after a month for maintenance, you then come back whenever you feel you need a boost or another maintenance.

Courses are particularly beneficial for people who are undertaking a lifestyle change, or who are looking to correct long term problems such as candida, constipation or acne, or those undertaking a detox or diet.

At your appointments you also have access to highly experienced therapists who can support you and offer whole range of health and lifestyle help.

Floatation for Athletes

Repose, tranquility, stillness, inaction - these are the levels of the universe, the ultimate perfection of the Tao.   ~ Chuang Tzu

Floatation Therapy

A floatation tank – or as we have at Tao Hydrotherapy, a floatation room – is a sensory deprivation cabin. It works by literally turning off your senses and putting you into a state of deep and total relaxation. Along with water, it also contains a super-concentrated, mineral-rich compound that contains, among others, nutrients that are hard to obtain from our food but are readily absorbed through the skin.

The float room itself contains 10 inches of body temperature water that has over half a ton of natural mineral-rich salts in it – it has the same effect as the salts in the dead sea, enabling you to float effortlessly.

Because the water is body temperature, and the air in the room the same, your body can’t feel it, creating a truly unique experience. Whilst floating, the pressure of gravity is taken off of the joints and muscles, reducing physical demands, and the body as a whole is put in to a high state of relaxation, with blood pressure and oxygen intake reduced, but at the same time blood flow and the distribution of red blood cells increase.

The brain also uses a lot of power to deal with the huge strain that gravity places on the body. In a floatation tank, your body is totally supported and you feel weightless. As there is little for your brain to do, every muscle can fully relax, and with no commands needing to be sent out, activity in the logical side of the brain slows down until it synchronises with the creative side.

To expand upon this, the left side of the brain is ‘logical’ and the right, ‘creative’. The left side processes information in a linear manner. It processes from part to whole. It takes pieces, lines them up, and arranges them in a logical order; then it draws conclusions. The right side however, processes from whole to parts, holistically. It starts with the answer. It sees the big picture first, not the details. Floatation balances the left and right sides of the brain, and abilities in one or the other do not diminish, rather they get trained to work better together, with greater synchronicity.

The effect of this balancing is that your brain gradually shifts from its usual alpha state, to generating theta waves. This will leave you in a dream-like state, similar to that experienced just before you go to sleep. In this state, the brain releases vast amounts of endorphins, a 'feel good' chemical. While the state of relaxation may be deep and profound, your brain will stay dreamily alert. This is also the state of mind that Buddhist monks try to reach through hours of meditation and years of training. And you can achieve this in just a few minutes using floatation!
The combined effect the unique compound has on your body and brain can improve your performance giving you an effective edge, it can shorten recovery times from training and injury, support and improve the efficacy of treatments such as physiotherapy, and when used regularly it will help you to maintain your general all round fitness levels.

IMPROVES PERFORMANCE

Modern training methods focus on helping the athlete to master the ‘inner game’ to develop the perfect synchronicity between mind, body and emotion which is the hallmark of a champion. In the tank the athlete can attain the level of concentration necessary for visualisation to have a quantifiable impact on his or her performance.

INCREASES STAMINA AND BLOOD FLOW

Stamina will be enhanced by floatation. Circulation and distribution of oxygen and nutrients increases, and a reduction in blood pressure, pulse and heart rates along with decreased oxygen consumption all result in improved staying power and longevity of energy reserves.

FASTER RECOVERY

Floatation has been shown to loosen the muscles and give athletes a greater degree of control over their nervous systems. This reduces the risk of injury during training or competition. Floatation not only accelerates the recovery process, but releases vast quantities of endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller.

SATISFYING

Physical exercise can cause a build of lactic acid, which is often experienced as pain and a cramping of the muscles, and has been linked with the feelings of depression known as ‘post-game letdown’ which can affect even part-time joggers. Floating resets the body’s chemical and metabolic balance, assisting in the flushing of lactate, cortisone and adrenaline that may have built up either through training or performance, thus reducing the risk of over training, and leaving you feeling content and rewarded for your efforts.

Key benefits of floatation therapy:

Promotes total calm, peaceful relaxation, eliminates fatigue and jet lag; improves sleep, alleviates stress- mental and physical; energises, rejuvenates and revitalises.

Stimulates left/right brain synchronisation; shifts brain waves from Beta to lower frequency Alpha, Theta and even Delta.; creates mental clarity, alertness; increases creativity, problem solving; heightens visualisation; deepens meditation; expands awareness, intensifies acuteness of all the senses, accelerates learning.

Enhances hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis; increases motivation, diminishes depression, anxiety and fear; facilitates freedom from habits, phobias and addictions.

Improves athletic performance and helps prevent sports injuries and speeds the healing process.

Decreases the production of Cortisol, ACTH, Lactic Acid and Adrenaline; Increases production of endorphins; quickens rehabilitation and recovery; relieves pain- arthritis, migraines, injuries etc.; boosts immune function.

Improves circulation and distribution of oxygen and nutrients; reduces blood pressure, pulse, heart rate and oxygen consumption.

Floatation is safe, effective and hydrating

The mineral salts we use are safe enough to be taken orally in the right amounts, but too much will cause dehydration which can be fatal, however, when absorbed through the skin there is no risk of this and it actually has the opposite effect. Your skin is a highly porous membrane and adding the right minerals to the water triggers a process called reverse osmosis, which actually pulls salt out of your body, and harmful toxins along with it. This means that no matter how often you train, the benefits of floating can be used in conjunction with your exercise programme in complete safety.

We’ve already helped top-flight footballers, FA qualified coaches as well as athletes, rugby players and Hollywood actors to enhance their skills, and we look forward to welcoming you to our spa to help you achieve the same.

So what exactly do you do all day?

Hello and welcome to Tao hydrotherapy’s very first blog!

So, where to start?

At the beginning is always a good one, so here goes....

What is Tao Hydrotherapy and what do we do is the most commonly asked question - and a tough one to answer but I’ll do my best.....

Born out of a the commitment to help people, the clinic - or Medispa came about after years of research into different natural therapies, but what do we mean by helping people?

Well that depends on you...

By far the best thing about working in the clinic is all the people that come through the door, every one is different, all of you have different needs and wants, so we quickly find out what those are and how we can help you and can pretty much guarantee you’ll go out with what you needed, we will go into deeper detail about what we do in due course, but for now....

All therapies come down to one of two things, detox and balance, that is getting all parts of the body to work in harmony and taking out anything that is blocking that process, in our therapy we remove the toxins which relieves a huge burden on the body allowing it to re-balance therefore functioning much more efficiently.

To do that we need to remove as many toxins as possible, but most importantly this has to be done in a safe way, it also has to be done comfortably and quickly, most of us have heard about detox’s that last 28 day, 14 days, 3 days and probably agree that they are a good idea but the time commitment is not an option for most of us.

So first we need to look at what a toxin is, they are essentially poisons, these can come in environmental forms such as chemicals in the environment, or auto intoxication (the body poisoning itself) which can be residues of food, or thoughts and feelings that leave us stressed or unsettled and unable to function properly.

Of course the best way to do this is to avoid putting toxins into the body in the first place, but that would mean only eating natural foods, drinking only pure water or pure fruit and vegetable juices, not using any chemicals on our bodies or in our environment, and only thinking happy thoughts.

While that’s impractical it is of course a good idea and we should avoid those things as much as possible, and we also need to deal with the toxins we willingly and unwillingly are exposed to every day, and also the toxins that are already in there.

Bearing all this in mind we found a system that did just that, not available in the UK (we had it imported from America) our totally self administered detox system can remove kilo’s of toxins safely, comfortably and privately in less than an hour!

We coupled this with a floatation cabin, again using water but this time with the addition of naturally occurring mineral salts packed with nutrients (Epsom Salt) to detox repair and re-balance not just the body but also the mind, resulting in a scientifically proven deeply effective treatment.

We also provide unlimited aftercare, you can ask our highly trained therapist as many questions as you like both before and after your treatment.

So there you have it, so if that sounds like something you need then you probably do, or if you’d like to find out more watch this space for more blogs, or call 01920 487483 - 7 days a week.
